Poko-Poko isn't really a beach because it doesn't have sand, but it's still a relaxing place from where you may access the ocean. It's a shallow pool that's half man made and half natural. Just like Pea it's in the town Hanga Roa, but Poko-Poko is much more secluded and private. It's located just before the cementary (coming from town) in the corner of the open grassy area called Hanga Vare-Vare where the evening events for the yearly Tapati Rapa Nui festival takes place.
Palm trees decorate this grassy area. A concrete foundation has been built by the water that, together with cliffs and a line of rocks, give the pool its circular shape. The line of rocks breaks the waves and causes the water within the pool to always be calm. This makes Poko-Poko a great place for small children.
A great restaurant just on the other side of the road is Au Bout Du Monde.
