I always do extensive research on all of my travel and Easter Island was no exception. I had learned of Marcus Edensky from other tourists who were lucky enough to have him as a guide. Marcus is. Very knowledgeable of the local culture, warm and very giving of his time. If your schedule does not work out with his, I recommend you change your schudale to fit his-----you will be happy you did. Marcus Edensky made our trip perfect!!

We were unable to meet Marcus in person, probably because he had recently had a baby, but we had a fantastic time regardless. Our guide Yoyo is from Easter Island and was able to give us a fascinating historical perspective and describe the oral traditions of the Rapa Nui people. He personally drove my wife and I around the island for 2 days and was very knowledgeable. I would absolutely recommend Marcus's guide services to anyone planning a trip to Easter Island.

Marcus & his wife had just had a baby girl a few hours before our tour, but he still met us at the shore and introduced Leo to all of us who would be our guide for the day. Leo was terrific and as a Rapa Nui native gave us a lot of insight into the history of the island and his people. Very patient with all of our questions and the tour of the quarry was a highlight. Great lunch with native dancers with the sea as a backdrop. All in all, not only a enjoyable, educational day excursion but a highlight of my years of traveling. Can't recommend Marcus' company highly enough. If you have a chance to visit, do not hesitate to have his company show you Easter Island--you won't be disappointed.

We booked the two day tour as our Oceania ship was anchored at Easter Island for that time. Our guide, Sebastian, who was part Rapa Nui and had spent most of his life on the Island, was excellent, with a wealth of knowledge. We took the smaller group tour, so there were just six of us. One of the highlights was arriving at places when almost no one was there, which was great considering there were 100's of people on our cruise ship. The morning visit to the large quarry on day 2 was magical. Wandering among the moai, seeing horses run free in the neighboring hills, and even a rainbow to make our morning complete! I would recommend Marcus' company to anyone visiting the Island.

Well, Easter Island Travel did not disappoint and definitely earns top marks for excellence. I'm a seasoned traveler and can assure you they are the best around. Markus, the owner, can take great pride in providing an experience of a lifetime to adventurers such as myself and my companions. He is a great guy and actually stopped by our hotel while we were out on our patio to check in to see how our tours went.
Having been smitten with Easter Island and it's Moai for most of my life, it was definitely on my bucket list. We took 3 tours and were able to see most if not all of everything there is to see. Our guide Nikolas is a local and kept us spell bound with his narrative of the history and love for the island. He provided a comfortable environment in which to ask questions and marvel at these amazing sights. We took the Birdman, Monolith, and Poike tour (hike up to the volcano for a panoramic view) and spent 4 fabulous days enjoying this beautiful island. I wouldn't do it any other way.
I researched other companies and their tours were half days and overpriced. Whatever you do, don't go with a package which includes the hotel. We had our own private tour which was thorough and well thought out, booked our own hotels and paid a WHOLE lot less. Thanks Markus and Nikolas for 3 solid days of a trip of a lifetime!!
